DGTR Recommends Anti-Dumping Duty On Viscose Yarn Imports From China

New Delhi, Mar 23 (KNN) India’s Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) has recommended the imposition of anti-dumping duties on imports of viscose rayon filament yarn from China to protect domestic manufacturers, according to a government notification issued on Monday.

The trade remedies authority has proposed duties ranging from USD 386 to USD 1,071 per metric tonne on viscose rayon filament yarn above 75 deniers, a widely used man-made fibre in the textile industry, reported The Economic Times.

As per the recommendation, imports from Xinxiang Chemical Fibre Co Ltd would attract a duty of USD 386 per metric tonne, while Jilin Chemical Fiber Co Ltd would face USD 667 per metric tonne.

For Yibin Hiest Fibre Limited Corporation and related exporters, the proposed duty stands at USD 518 per metric tonne. Other producers and exporters from China may be subjected to a higher duty of USD 1,071 per metric tonne.

The DGTR’s investigation found that dumped imports from China had increased significantly, leading to price suppression in the domestic market and causing material injury to Indian producers.

The recommended duties, if approved by the Ministry of Finance, will be applicable for a period of five years.
