Course Launched To Train Para Professionals For Assisting MSMEs In Regulatory Compliance

New Delhi, Jun 27 (KNN) Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, IIT Pravartak, Swayam Plus, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) and Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI) have come together and signed a MoU to launch Corporate Mitra scheme which seeks to create a pool of trained and certified para professionals to support MSMEs in managing business and regulatory compliances.

The ICAI in a statement said that the course to train para professionals is open for graduates or those in final year of graduation and are aged upto 30 years.

As per the official release, the course includes academic online learning of about 150 hours through expert led sessions and 6 months on-the-job training with professional firms. Certification would be provided after successful completion of the course and on-job training.

The candidates signing up for the course will be given lessons in Accounting, Taxation, Banking, Financial Management, Legal and Secretarial and Cost and Management Accounting.

The academic support for the Corporate Mitra course will be provided by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Institute of Company Secretaries of India and Institute of Cost Accountants of India. The academic module of the course will be delivered through Swayam Plus portal.

The course fee would be Rs 3,000 plus GST. Women and candidates from North Eastern States, Himalayan Regions, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep will be given 50% concession in the course fee.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had in the Budget of 2026-27 announced the Corporate Mitra scheme to create a pool of trained and certified para professionals to support MSMEs in managing business and regulatory compliances.

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has played a key role in implementing the scheme by forming a steering committee after the budget announcement. It also helped and provided guidance to the professional institutes in finalization of scheme guidelines.

“The Ministry also played a key role in hosting the designed course content for Corporate Mitra on SWAYAM Plus portal for nationwide rollout of the Scheme,” the official release said.
