The Andhra Pradesh government has launched a ₹200-crore cluster development programme to strengthen the state’s Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and generate employment by fostering organised industrial clusters. Under this initiative, the government aims to develop 45 MSME clusters across the state, potentially creating around 7,032 direct jobs by 2030.
The programme is part of a broader effort to support small enterprises — which are key to local economies — by improving infrastructure, increasing productivity, and enhancing competitiveness. By focusing on cluster-based growth rather than isolated units, authorities expect to help firms access shared facilities, technology and markets more efficiently.
Officials highlighted that the clusters will be spread across different regions of Andhra Pradesh, tapping into area-specific strengths and traditional industries to ensure balanced economic development. MSMEs benefiting from the scheme could see upgrades in productivity and better integration into supply chains, while the jobs created would contribute to regional employment opportunities in both manufacturing and services.
