The scheme targets individuals aged 18–35 and provides a range of support measures, including financial assistance, training and mentoring. Under the initiative, capital subsidies of up to Rs 1 lakh or 25 percent of the project cost are offered for new enterprises, with higher benefits of up to 30 per cent extended to women and persons with disabilities.
Mission YUVA also focuses on building a support ecosystem through structured training, business mentoring and facilitation by designated ‘Yuva Doots’. Special outreach initiatives such as ‘Roz-e-YUVA’ and ‘Udyami YUVA Day’ are being organised to connect aspiring entrepreneurs with financial institutions and support agencies.
Focus on economic transformation
The programme aims to strengthen local entrepreneurship, improve market linkages and enhance employability through targeted skill development interventions.
Officials emphasised the need for coordinated efforts to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem and ensure effective handholding of aspiring entrepreneurs.
The initiative is expected to play a key role in fostering a vibrant enterprise ecosystem and driving economic transformation in Jammu and Kashmir.
